The signature green of the neon palms was applied to the front of the venue. Marquee lighting was added to create a sense of arrival and theatre.
Inside the vibe is pure rock n’ roll. We were lucky enough to be supplied with an image bank from past shows featuring Blondie and the Rolling Stones — which we blew up to epic proportions and plastered on the walls.
To break up the photography, we designed a series of custom wallpaper prints. Marshall amps, speakers, old ticket stubs and show posters were added overtop of boring drywall to add more life to the venue.
The devil is in the details. We engaged local craftspeople every chance we could to bring bespoke details to the club, such as the iconic palm trees featured in tile and metalwork.
Building on the gritty glamour of the interior, we designed a series of printed promotional pieces to build excitement for the relaunch of the legendary El Mocambo in downtown Toronto.
The promotional materials didn’t stop with print. We were engaged to create beer labels, belt buckles and jeep wraps to build hype.
A little know fact about the El Mocambo — Mike Wekerle commissioned us to design and brand his own private tiki bar on the second level VIP balcony. It’s easily the best spot to watch and show and take in the crowd.
