Instead of fighting with the existing furniture, it was placed strategically throughout the space to create vignettes for photography. Quotes about travel were placed throughout the space to remind people of the joy of exploration while waiting for their flights.
To create an engaging installation where people are otherwise just waiting for their flight, we designed an interactive gumball machine. 50,000 lime green gumballs were ordered, delivered and installed, which allowed travellers to vote on the airport’s next destination offerings.
The bold colour strategy for the Hamilton Airport was easy to extend to a variety of applications; instantly recognizable regardless of application.
