Summit Station is consistently named one of the Top 10 Best Managed Dairy Herds in Canada. They currently milk 450 Holstein cows – all descended from the original 15 cows that started it all. It was important to capture the authentic, family atmosphere in the photography.
The dairy farm and retail space are located along the historic railway line between Hamilton and Brantford, and the branding takes cues from this interesting past.
A playful font family was chosen to bring interest to the packaging. The eclectic nature of the typography is reminiscent of vintage typesetting techniques, consistent with the era of the historic train station.
The brand strategy formed the starting point for the retail space. The interior design has hints of train station — clocks, lighting — married with a modern farmhouse vibe.
A custom wallpaper was designed for the bathrooms, which was an opportunity for brand storytelling and little bits of cow-related humour.
Adjacent to the retail space, a private kitchen was designed to host private parties and corporate events. This space comes complete with a small kitchen — ideal for cookie-baking.
Once established, the visual language of the brand was applied across all consumer touchpoints such as delivery vans, signage and the website.
